Warren Hoffnung - CEO

Mr. Hoffnung is the cofounder of MyWrapper®. He is a graduate of UCLA with a BS in Nuclear Physics. He has pursued graduate studies in Solid State Physics and has a MBA. Mr. Hoffnung has been developing software for over 40 years and is the author of Morse Tutor and Morse Tutor Gold--software programs for learning the Morse Code--with combined sales of over 27,000 copies in 34 countries. He co-designed MyWrapper® and wrote all of the code in Delphi. Mr. Hoffnung had a 30 year career in aerospace and defense and has taught undergraduate and graduate management courses on a part time basis for over 23 years.

Marla Silva - Marketing Maven

Ms. Silva is the cofounder of MyWrapper®. She has an MBA from Golden Gate University and is the founder/owner of Marla's Mania a highly regarded promotional products distributor in Southern California. Marla's Mania makes the claim that it has never missed a customer's delivery date in its 12 year history. MyWrapper® will do its best to achieve this in its dealings. When she is not running Marla's Mania, Ms. Silva is busy finding new outlets for MyWrapper® and developing new concepts to improve it. If you have an idea, be sure to share it with Marla.

History

The inspiration for MyWrapper® came from a struggling single mom who was trying to make a living selling personalized candy wrappers. While struggling to learn a very sophisticated graphics program, she realized that it took hours to create the custom candy wrappers her customers wanted. But the process did not end there. After showing the proof to the customer and the customer making changes to design, fonts, color scheme etc., she would have to spend additional time with the graphic programs to implement all of her customer’s changes. The process was so lengthy that she soon learned she could not make this business profitable.

One day she met a woman, Marla Silva, who listened to her complaints and knew of a best-selling software author, Warren Hoffnung, who would be willing to work on this project. Over the next year, Warren wrote the software program and Marla tested it, and re-tested it for ease of use. Warren designed the program so that the wrappers could be easily created through a template program that allowed customers to print their own wrappers at home in minutes. And that was how MyWrapper® was born.

Over the last eight years, MyWrapper® has been improved and updated based on requests from our customers as to what they would like to see in the software. We are currently in the process of our third major revision of the software.

When they created MyWrapper®, Warren and Marla had not thought of candy wrapping as an occupation, but as soon as they launched their website they were flooded with orders from individuals who were either already in the candy wrapping business or wanted to get in. They also received lots and lots of orders from people like themselves, who wanted to make wrappers for friends and family, but didn't want to do it for a living.

Although Warren and Marla still limit their own candy wrapping to events for friends and family, they are really proud of the number of small businesses they have helped launch with their software.

Philosophy

Make it easy to use, make it what the customers want, make it robust, make it easy to update, offer free technical support and always treat the customer or prospective customer with respect.

These were the guiding principles that went into the design and development of the MyWrapper family of products, MyWrapper®, MyWrapper Gold® and MyWrapper Platinum®.

The result of this philosophy has been that customers with limited computer experience and limited graphic skills have been able to make and print custom candy wrappers within minutes of downloading the software. This is just one of the reasons why MyWrapper®, MyWrapper Gold® and MyWrapper Platinum® have a loyal customer following and the leading position in the candy wrapping software industry.

Another reason for the success of MyWrapper® has been our dedication to offering a quick response to technical questions sent to us by our customers. If our customer requires more detailed step-by-step instructions, we give them a call and stay with them on the phone until we hear their excitement and joy as they see their finished wrappers coming out of the printer.
